Donald W. Van Dyke, II

Donald W. Van Dyke, II is the founder and Chairman of D. W. Van Dyke & Co. Inc., D. W. Van Dyke and Company of Connecticut, Inc. and the holding company, DDR Holdings, Inc. He has over 44 years of insurance and reinsurance experience in the Life, Accident and Health industries, having started his career with Mutual Life Insurance Company of New York, in 1961, working principally as a life and health underwriter. His reinsurance activities began when he joined General Reinsurance Life Corporation/General Reassurance Corporation in 1967 where he was an officer with responsibility for production of life reinsurance in the Northeast and Canada. Following General Re in 1970, he joined Willcox, Baringer & Co., Inc., a reinsurance intermediary firm where he started their life, accident & health reinsurance activities and was responsible for the facultative property and casualty operations. At Willcox, Baringer, he was a Vice President, a member of the Executive Committee and the Board of Directors. It was in 1978 when he decided to start his own firm, the original company, being D. W. Van Dyke & Co., Inc., as a Reinsurance Intermediary firm specializing in structuring and placing reinsurance for Life, Accident & Health and Special Risk Insurance business.
